- About Us
Our grants are available to Traditional Building Health Check Members to support the cost of conservation-standard repairs to historic and traditional buildings.
The grant scheme has been designed to assist with priority 1 and 2 repairs in identified in the TBHC Inspection Report.
Grants are available for traditional properties within the Stirling City boundary and in Bridge of Allan which are members of the Traditional Buildings Health Check.
All owners within a building must be current members of the Traditional Buildings Health Check, and you will need to have had an inspection carried out by our team to assess the condition of your property. At the time of your grant payment you will need to have a minimum of 3 months left of your membership.
If you would like information about how to become a TBHC member and our services please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Our grants are designed to assist with Priority 1 & 2 external fabric repairs identified in your TBHC Inspection Report which involve the use of traditional materials and methods only. We can fund high quality conservation repairs using traditional materials and methods. All works must meet Historic Environment Scotland’s Advisory Standards of Conservation Repair.
The grant rate is 50% of eligible works up to a maximum of £15,000 per building, per year. So, for example, on a building in shared ownership, that is £15,000 in total for any common repairs which would be divided between Traditional Buildings Health Check members. There is a minimum grant of £2,000 so eligible works must exceed £4,000.
There is a finite amount of grant funding available and funds will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Grant applications are presented to a panel of our Trustees for their consideration. They then make the final decision on the grant award.

Please be aware that you should not start works until you have your formal grant award and have signed and returned the grant contract. We do not fund retrospective repair works.
Allow plenty of time to apply for the grant and seek quotes. If your work is urgent due to water ingress or a safety issue you should address this. The grant is not suitable for emergency works.
