The board

The Trust is governed by a Board of Directors who give of their time voluntarily. Currently, the Board comprises five Directors, of which two are appointees of Stirling Council. The Head of Planning and Regulation at Stirling Council is advisor to the Board.

The Board meets regularly, with a Grants Sub-committee and other project groups meeting as required.

Trust Board

Philip Cleghorn (Chairperson) is a retired businessman with a long career both with NCR and as Financial and Services Director of his own company. He has lived in the Stirling area for 34 years and is a member of King's Park Community Council. Philip has been Chairperson since the Trust's inception.

Jim Panton (Vice-chair) is a qualified engineer with a wide range of experience including nearly 10 years as Director of Technical Services for Orkney Islands Council.  Jim relocated to Stirling in 2001 and served on Kings Park Community Council becoming Chair in 2004.  Jim joined the Board of Stirling City Heritage Trust in the summer of 2006.

David Black is an IT professional and freelance broadcaster, who has lived and worked in Stirling since 1989.  He is a member of Mercat Cross and City Centre Community Council and is a member of a number of other local community groups in the Top of the Town.  He is also a director of Stirling District Tourism Ltd. David joined the Trust Board at the start of 2007.

Councillor Graham Reed represents the Castle Ward.  He came to Stirling in 1984 to take charge of the glass-blowing workshop at the University of Stirling before setting up a scientific glass apparatus company.  He is now Sales Director of Windsave Ltd.  Graham joined the Trust Board in June 2007.

Councillor Neil Benny represents the ward of Stirling West.  Schooled in Stirling, Neil graduated in Politics from Edinburgh University.  He is currently working for the Forestry Commission. Neil joined the Trust Board in June 2007.
